Vodacom Tanzania released H1 18 results that were heavily impacted by one-off costs. Without the one-offs, PAT would have grown by 27% yoy. H2 18 is likely to be better as Vodacom Tanzania books a TZS106bn profit from the sale of its debt and equity stake in Helios Towers Tanzania (HTT) in October 2017.
Revenue growth boosted by M-Pesa and data. Revenue grew 5.5% yoy to TZS486bn, driven by 27% growth in data revenue and 17% yoy growth in M-Pesa revenue.
