Turkish equities had a good bounce back yesterday, as the fear about inflation hedged bonds that would reduce appetite for equities disappeared and the banks had a good comeback led by Halkbank. The CBRT will announce its policy rate at 14:00 local time and the consensus is that it will stay on hold. The lira keeps on weakening, hence some measure needs to be taken or we will be going towards 3-digit inflation in the autumn. We will test the 2,430 level at the opening and we will see if we can stay above that.
