In September 2022, Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) decreased 7.1% to close at 11,405 points. The average traded value decreased by 21.4% mom and 22.9% yoy to SAR5.4bn. QFIs and Saudi individuals were net sellers with a net outflow of SAR1.7bn and SAR1.6bn, respectively. However, Saudi retail were net buyers, with a total inflow of SAR1.5bn.

  • In September 2022, Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) decreased by 7.1% to 11,405 points. Average value traded decreased to SAR5.4bn vs SAR6.9bn in August 2022, down 21.4% mom.

  • Saudi individuals were net sellers with a total value of SAR1.6bn. Total Saudi individual investors’ traded value accounted for 65.3% of September 2022’s value traded vs 75.2% in August 2022. Saudi retail individual investors’ net purchases were SAR1.5bn vs SAR983mn in August 2022. HWI/IPIs were also net sellers with a total of SAR2.4bn (vs net sales of SAR863mn in August 2022). Individual DPMs were also net sellers with a total of SAR750mn.

  • Saudi institutional investors were net buyers in September 2022, with a total of SAR3.2bn vs net sellers in August 2022 with SAR3.6bn. They accounted for 14.1% of the total value traded (vs 9.4% in August 2022), while their ownership decreased marginally to 54.1% of the free float market cap from 54.7% in August 2022. Saudi institutional investors’ total value traded reached SAR30.5bn in September 2022 vs SAR30.0bn in August 2022.

  • QFIs were also net sellers in September 2022 with a net outflow of SAR1.6bn vs inflow of SAR3.5bn in August 2022. QFIs ownership stood at SAR280bn (12.9% of the free float market cap). The total value traded of QFIs reached SAR38.0bn, similar to August 2022 levels of SAR38.4bn.
