Mexico: Strong job gains in July, with people back to the labor force

  • The unemployment rate rose to 4.38% nsa, skewed-up by seasonal trends. Participation and part-time rates were higher

  • Jobs created were high at 1.3 million, with an increase in the labor force likely related to students finishing school

  • We see the report as very positive. Nevertheless, COVID-19 dynamics are still an important risk going forward
