Mexico: IMEF’s PMIs – The slowdown of activity deepened in August

  • The manufacturing index fell to 51.3pts from 51.8pts, dragged by steep declines in ‘deliveries’ and ‘new orders’

  • The non-manufacturing indicator plunged 2.2pts to 50.1pts, with all components lower, led by ‘new orders’

  • The report suggests greater headwinds for domestic demand into 3Q21, inserting modest downside risks for GDP
