Mexico: Banking credit – Signs of a faster rebound in October

  • Banking credit declined 6.1% y/y in real terms, likely benefited by improving virus conditions

  • Non-performing loans (NPLs) stood at 2.5% of the total portfolio, better in corporates and mortgages

  • We expect credit to continue recovering, possibly at a faster pace as the economy seems to gather more dynamism
